The Frisches--

This is my baby brother, Ian--- and his Eva Longoria-esque, beautiful wife, Teresita. They were highschool sweethearts. He's two years younger than me, and YES, has already made these THREE handsome boys-- and makes having them look like a piece of cake. They were made for eachother, these two... both so laid back and easy to be around--- impossible to ruffle. Every time I leave them, I leave committed to relax and enjoy everything just a little more.

The boys ran across the green while I made Ian and Tere make googley eyes at eachother and by the time we looked back over... Cannon was on his way back slowly but surely, with his pants creeping down inch by inch. Just a little too big. I had to catch a shot of those cute boy-undies.

Uh huh--- True Religion. I bought my first pair when I was 26 I think. He's 18 months..? Nice. I'm going to be outstyled by my toddler nephews before I know it.

Oh I love this guy.

J Fam

One of the best parts of this job(?) is getting to know people like these. This is a family I'd never met, and by the end I was hoping for a dinner-invite. Just kidding, Anna.... really. But seriously... such a cute couple, with such sweet kids... you could see the comfort and love between ALL of them.

And of course I was in heaven as soon as I realized Anna was TOTALLY laughy. Thanks Anna.

The H. Family- Lillie Biesinger: Coachella Valley Family Photographer

Back in my pre-baby days, I worked at the Marriott with both Allison and her husband, Anthony. Only he wasn't her husband then. He was this cute, skinny bell-boy (right Anthony?), and she was this darling front-desk girl that managed to pull off the awful aloha shirt and red-blazer and always had a cute bob that made me want to cut my hair. Now they're all grown up, and he's all big and husband slash daddy like, and she's all gorgeous and LONG-haired which made me hate myself for cutting mine.... I just can't win.

The Mads--- Lillie Biesinger: Coachella Valley Family Photographer

Andrea is my age I think? And she has these FOUR beautiful kids! AND... looks like that. I know right?
Three handsome boys and one little princess. One little princess we watched trip and fall in slow motion and bloody her little tiny nose. Yup--- it was awful... luckily we'd gotten a good chunk of the photos done, and mama's fruity lip-gloss all to herself (seen in the first photo) made her happy as pie.
Thanks Andrea and fam--- for the blue eyes, and the hair, and the orange, and the smiles, and the boots-- and for brushing it off like it was nothing when Alivia busted her nose... you're pros.

The B's-- Lillie Biesinger: Coachella Valley Family Photographer

Teenage B- Madi, is my sitter--- oh WHAT would I do without her? She knows my kids and house so well, it's ok that I'm always scatter brained when I'm getting ready for a date and can't think of anything I should tell her. She doesn't need it! I come home to sleeping kids and a clean house EVERY time. And this is Kate, one of Sophia's best friends, and class-mates. We love her and those big browns. And this is her kitty. In most of the pictures she was hiding her between her knees or behind her back so she didn't have to let her go for even a moment. So sweet. I'm in love with this expression... I want to frame it on MY wall! It's like a fresh, new popeye. Meet Austin.
Oh I'm loving this new job/hobby--- so many beautiful faces to capture. Thanks Julie!

The W's-- Lillie B- Coachella Valley Family Photographer

One of the things that takes up WAY more time than it should is choosing photos to post after editing a shoot--- this is why I've done a couple of thumbnail collages... should have done it this time. It's 12:20 and I'm not even sure which ones I've chosen now.... just some random faves.... but you can't really go wrong with this family of FIVE gorgeous kids. OH how I love this family. Alysa (mom) is one of those women you hope to have around you forever just so you can try your best to trip and stumble your way through her footsteps. Such an example.

And how about these ties? I would SO order some for my boys if I had any... I think she found them on etsy somewhere... made of Amy Butler fabrics. So cute right?
And the laughing--- SO for real. She's a laughy one--- I always new she'd be fun to photograph because of that--

The Dubyas. Lillie Biesinger: Coachella Valley Family Photographer

Did you notice her arms... look again. I want to photoshop them into all of my photos from now on. (Said as I just finished up my 10:30 bowl of icecream and corn chex-- One of the many reasons I'm never going to have those arms.)
Thanks Amy!... for having a darling family and all.

W Family- Lillie Biesinger: Coachella Valley Family Photographer

I'm thinking I might turn to these thumbnail collages to get through these holiday shoots faster. Oh so much quicker-- phew!

I love chatting with people through email and then finally getting to meet them 'for real' behind my camera. I knew I liked Mollie in her emails... but I couldn't have hoped for a better, brighter, genuinely LAUGHY mama. Oh how I love a laughy family... I think it helped that this was during our 'cold week' of 70's... so we were actually comfortable running around.... first time I've left a shoot without sweaty-head.

And is it just me or does this darling little girl look a little like Milla Javovich?
Thanks Mollie for coming to me with your gorgeous family!

Did I mention most of my best friends in the world are pregnant? She's one of 'em.

This is Rachelle. aka Miss Chelle. She did the at-home preschool last year that Sophia still begs for. She's got two boys--- that keep her hands ESPECIALLY full (one has autism), and is expecting.... but. another. Boy that is.
You can hold the chubby little girl hands of my Mila any time you need your fem-fix Rachelle... but personally, I can't wait for you to have one more precious boy.

The B Family- Lillie Biesinger: Coachella Valley Family Photographer

This is Xavier... he was so happy and OBEDIENT--- There's nothing like the genuine smile of a child. What a doll.
And this is Heather, and these are her shoes. GORGEOUS right? The both of them? That smile, that coloring... oh I could have taken pictures of her all day--

Thanks Heather! It was so fun to finally meet you in person! Hope I didn't embarrass you too much with the snakes in my hair...

Some of my favorites so far... A Family Reunion- Lillie Biesinger: San Diego Family Photographer

Obviously if I had it my way I would have just chased the kids around for a couple of hours and gotten tons of each of their GORGEOUS faces. Seriously...

Lincoln turned 1!

Do you remember this little guy from his 6 month shoot?? Kym was one of my first clients! This time around I got to photograph his actual birthday party--- Kym caters, and makes all sorts of delicious treats, so I knew it'd be a good one. :)

Some friends... some cousins... partying... like rock stars. Or toddlers.

Millie--- 9 Days Old: Lillie Biesinger- Coachella Valley Newborn Photographer

This is Millie. Oh boy. This little peanut reminded me so much of my girls--- and made me so aware of how huMONGOUS they are now compared to how they started... which..... made me a just a teensie tiny bit baby hungry. Not like, super hungry. Just a little bit hungry. Like for a snack. Like maybe for a cheese stick or a piece of peanut butter toast... not like for a slew of half-priced appetizers at Yardhouse that make you full through the entire weekend. So.... whatever that means. I think I got carried away and now the analogy just seems a little creepy.

In a nutshell, Millie was cute---- REALLY cute. And of course her mom said she's a sleepy little angel.... and then I came along. (She didn't say that part... that's just the truth.) Lately I feel like I have the magical touch--- only my magic makes them awake and grouchy. So sorry Robyn! I need to work on my baby whisper skills a little. At least she's gorgeous with her eyes open!

Luke- 7 days old (right Vanessa?) -- Lillie Biesinger: San Diego Newborn Photographer

This precious boy was a surprise. He was a surprise when they first found out about him ... and then they decided to wait to find out the gender... why can't I imagine waiting? I don't care if I had three of each, I'd probably still pay the extra money to find out early if the opportunity was presented. What does that say about me? I'm thinking painfully impatient.
I knew this gorgeous mama in highschool. She was a super star. Ten years later and she looks JUST the same... only more beautiful. I admired her youthful freckles then,.... and now?? Well it's more of an unhealthy, covetous, jealousy. I love freckles. Especially in a photo. LOVE them. I want to photoshop them onto my face. Would that be weird?

He was over 9 pounds when he was born... so when I saw him? He was big, strong, healthy, and ALERT. Poor guy didn't really sleep a wink while I was there. Luckily his eyes were already sparkling, so we just embraced the wake baby shots. :) Thanks Vanessa and Brad! He's a doll--- good luck with everything ahead...

Did you want your CD with images included? It's back.

Last time I changed my prices, I'd convinced myself there was no need to explain it or announce it. I thought maybe it wasn't professional to do so. But then I was always a little nervous that people who knew me and knew my original prices wouldn't check out the new ones, and I'd be faced with an awkward situation. So maybe it's not totally professional, but um.... A: have you met me? Maybe I should lose that dream. And B: what the hey-- it's a blog. A medium through which you share more than anyone would EVER really want to hear, right? .... So here I am to explain another little rate change.

I LOVE photography. When I first started, my goal was to charge a little bit of money and get some good experience and some good images to build my portfolio. I was having so much fun. When I found myself having a little less fun and feeling a little more aware of the time my new hobby was taking me away from my family, I thought maybe it was time to raise my prices a bit, you know, so I'd still feel that excitement before a shoot. I had decided it was ok if that meant less business. I just needed to feel like the shoot, and all the hours spent editing photos were worth my time. It's so precious as a mommy, right? Also, I'd made some significant upgrades to my equipment. I debated between a simple sitting-fee raise, and charging for digital negatives. It seemed like a nice stepping stone to my goal of eventually charging for the prints. But after getting some feedback from some honest friends-slash-clients (I guess I could just use the slash but then I'm not sure you'll actually say it right in your head), I decided to switch it up. So check out my new session fees already will ya? Just so we're all on the same page. :)

Thankyou to all of you that have supported me in this new venture! And if you're considering a shoot in time for Christmas cards, contact me soon-- it's a busy time!

Amanda and Michael: Lillie Biesinger- San Diego Wedding Photographer

I'm just going to warn you early on. These here photos-- they go on forever and ever. But I decided after staring and staring and trying to select some to delete to no avail... that since it is my PHOTO blog, I reserve the right to post an EXCESSIVE amount of photos .... especially when involving a GORGEOUS bride with the longest eyelashes you've ever seen.... and lots and lots of they-can't-help-themselves-cause-they're-not-married-yet kissing. I like kisses. Can you tell?

I grew up with Amanda in San Diego. When she asked me to shoot her wedding, I was ecstatic! until I read the rest of the email and realized it was during our Hawaii trip. So I pitched the idea of just doing a little pre or post bride and groom shoot. And they were all over it! We did it right before my trip, a few days before their wedding and I loved every second of it (accept when I let my 5D swing over my shoulder and whack the concrete. That was a bad moment. Turns out only the UV protector was cracked (thank heavens), but I couldn't get it off to see since the side was bent in too much. Luckily the the next day was kid-free which meant I had time to run around San Diego and make all the inconvenient errands necessary to fix it. Done. Hooray. Phew.)

Anyway-- doesn't it make you want to get married all over again? It does me.

Still Ross. Don't get any crazy ideas. Sometimes I just think every girl deserves to be a beautiful bride... LOTS of times. ;)

Diego-- Lillie Biesinger: San Diego Newborn Photography

Remember this mama a few weeks ago? Her little Diego is on the outside now, and wowing everyone with his thick head of hair and perfect newborn pieces. Congrats Melody-- he really is perfect.
